Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Madison, WI. This position involves providing high-acuity emergency care in a Level I Trauma Center designated facility, delivering advanced, specialized treatment for adult and pediatric patients. The role requires clinical expertise in managing complex conditions and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
Position Description: Eve/Night, 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts as needed, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications: 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years, WI Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, BLS, PALS, ACLS (American Heart Association only), TNCC certification, and ability to pass telemetry test prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing patients with neurotrauma, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Schedule: Night shifts, 36 hours per week minimum.
Additional Information: Clinical duties include managing complex emergency cases such as strokes, trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory issues, mental health conditions, and pediatric emergencies. Candidates must pass strict pass/fail telemetry testing and demonstrate proficiency in various emergency procedures, including intubation, arterial line management, and sedation.
Submittal Requirements: Candidates must be able to provide references and pass test criteria in two attempts, with a third attempt allowed upon submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate.
