Emergency Room (ER) Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced Level 2 Trauma Center. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a busy ER environment, managing patients with diverse and complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a 54-bed emergency room setting.
• Assess and triage patients based on their medical needs and urgency.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to create and implement treatment plans.
• Administer medications and administer life-saving procedures as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using EPIC electronic health records system.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care, treatment options, and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience in an emergency room.
• 2 years of clinical experience in a similar role is required.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (acceptable to have pending certification)
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Vaccinations:
  • 2-Step PPD (Tuberculosis screening) required
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Schedule and Weekend Requirements

The role does not entail a fixed weekend rotation. Agency team members may be scheduled for up to six weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling period. Night shift staff may work up to three Sundays during this period.

Work Environment

This position requires ability to thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment, treating an average of 220 patients daily at a Level 2 Trauma Center.
