Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on admitted patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Administer medications, including IV medications, while adhering to the seven rights of medication administration.
• Document and communicate clinical findings accurately.
• Manage and monitor patient care in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with nursing practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, with preference for Level I Trauma experience.
• Current active Registered Nurse license; pending licenses are acceptable at the time of submission.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC.
• Strong travel experience preferred, although RNs with 2+ years of Level I experience may be considered.
• No local candidates within 100 miles will be accepted.

Work Schedule

Shifts are available as either 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend scheduling is required as needed, with weekend days defined as Saturday and Sunday, and weekend nights as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Additional Information

• This position may require floating to Pediatric Emergency Department and Adult Patient Care Units based on staffing needs.
• No on-call requirements.
• COVID vaccination is optional; however, documentation will be required for reporting purposes.
• Current clinical trends include an increase in admit holds. Flexibility and adaptability in the workload will be expected.

Hospital Environment

This position is located in a Level I Trauma Center, which is also a teaching facility, emphasizing the delivery of acute care across a diverse patient demographic.

OT Rules

Overtime is applicable after 48 hours for all contracts signed on or after a specified date.
