Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced emergency care team. The Emergency Department consists of 35 treatment rooms, 15 hallway beds (approximately 50 total ED/TCU beds), and a 6-room locked Behavioral Health Emergency Department (BHED). Nurses must be comfortable caring for a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adult, geriatric, trauma, and behavioral health patients.
Shift Details
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday and one summer holiday required
- Orientation Date: August 18 (Mandatory)
Responsibilities
- Assess, prioritize, and provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Manage critically ill, trauma, medical, surgical, and behavioral health patients.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Monitor patient condition and document accurately in the EMR.
- Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations while maintaining patient safety.
Requirements
- Active RN License (New Jersey or Compact License) required at submission
- BSN required
- Recent Emergency Department experience
- Must have experience caring for all patient populations, including Pediatrics
- Current certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Current Flu Vaccine required
- Limited Request Time Off (RTO)
