Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice in Illinois
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Department or Emergency Room setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to remain composed in a high-acuity Emergency Department

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide professional nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to provider orders and established Emergency Department protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Assist with emergency procedures, resuscitation efforts, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients
• Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge guidance
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in MEDITECH
• Maintain adherence to patient safety, infection prevention, and professional nursing standards
