Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a small hospital setting within a healthcare facility. The role involves providing critical care in both medical-surgical and emergency department units, with responsibilities that include responding to trauma and emergency situations. This assignment offers a dynamic work environment with a mix of day and night shifts, including every other weekend.

Job Details:

• Location: Not specified; this position is within a healthcare facility serving a small hospital environment.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts include day shifts from 0630-1900, night shifts from 1830-0700, and additional on-call shifts (Sunday through Saturday).
• Required Qualifications: Active South Dakota or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (willing to obtain); 2+ years of experience in Med-Surg and Emergency Room or Critical Access Hospital; Certifications include BLS, ACLS, and TNCC; proficiency with computerized EPIC charting system; ability to respond to calls within 40 minutes.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in small hospital settings with float responsibilities; understanding of electronic charting through EPIC.
• Additional Information:
  • Must badge in and out at the facility.
  • Shifts involve response to increased patient acuity, emergency and trauma situations, patient transfers, and covering staffing needs due to sick calls or emergencies.
  • Site-specific orientation and EPIC chart training provided during the first week of assignment.
  • Ratios typically range from 1 nurse to 3-5 patients.
  • Candidates must submit Nursys, DOB, SSN, permanent address, references, a broken-up resume, skills checklist, and last four SSNs along with DOB.
  • No trauma level designation; Critical Access Hospital setting.
