Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in emergency care and be proficient in using EPIC charting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in emergency situations.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, adjusting to 1:5 for lower acuity cases.
• Utilize specialized equipment including Belmont devices, Giraffe warmers, Rapid infusers, and Lucas devices during emergencies.
• Participate actively in collaborative decision-making and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Float within the emergency department specialty as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of emergency room nursing experience required; travel experience preferred.
• Consideration for first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is also necessary.

Work Schedule

The position requires 36 hours per week, with three 12-hour shifts from 15:30 to 04:00. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, and holiday shifts will be scheduled as needed.

Patient Demographics

The average daily census is approximately 140, with a bed capacity of 46. The patient age group encompasses all age ranges, presenting a variety of diagnoses such as:

• Chest Pain
• Stroke
• Sepsis
• Cardiac Arrest
• Trauma
• Respiratory Illness
• Respiratory Arrest
