Note: Very busy 54-bed Level II Trauma ER averaging 220 patients/day with high-acuity patients.

Position Overview:

Provide emergency nursing care in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center serving neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a fast-paced 54-bed emergency department.

Job duties:

• Perform rapid triage and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with acute and traumatic conditions.
• Manage respiratory emergencies including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and interpretation of ABGs.
• Administer IV medications, vasopressors, sedation, blood products, and emergency therapies as clinically indicated.
• Provide cardiac monitoring, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and recognize and manage dysrhythmias and emergency cardiac conditions.
• Provide neurological and trauma care for CVA, orthopedic trauma, gunshot wounds, and other high-acuity emergencies.

Requirements:
License: RN license required; specific state/compact license requirement not provided in the source.
Experience: 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year of ED travel experience required.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS. Pending certifications accepted for submission per job overview.
Other requirement: Epic required; Level II Trauma experience preferred; community hospital experience preferred; every other weekend coverage required.

Patient Diagnoses: High-acuity emergency and trauma presentations, including CVA, respiratory emergencies, cardiac conditions, gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma, and other acute medical/surgical emergencies.
