Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:

• Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Florida State RN License or active eNLC Compact RN License held in hand at submission.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum 1–2+ years of dedicated Emergency Department (ED/ER) RN experience in a high-volume acute care setting.
• Mandatory Certifications:

  • Active AHA PALS
  • Active NIHSS
• Schedule Commitment: Candidate must explicitly agree to the 18:45–07:15 night shift schedule and the every-other-weekend rotation.

Job Summary & Clinical Scope

A facility in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN ER) for a 13-week night-shift assignment in the Emergency Department / Trauma 5 001 (Department 12220). Operating within a historic, high-volume urban medical center along the St. Johns River, the ER RN will manage emergency clinical care for diverse adult and pediatric populations presenting with acute medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies.

• Emergency Triage & Patient Stabilization: Perform rapid primary and secondary patient assessments, assign ESI triage acuity levels, initiate emergency protocols, and stabilize emergent clinical presentations.
• Resuscitation & Advanced Life Support: Manage acute cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and trauma resuscitations; assist with emergency intubations, chest tube insertions, central line placements, and cardiac pacing.
• High-Acrotity Pharmacotherapy: Administer continuous IV vasoactive infusions, antiarrhythmics, thrombolytics, sedatives, and narcotic analgesics while closely monitoring vital signs and continuous cardiac telemetry.
• Interdisciplinary Trauma Care: Collaborate directly with emergency physicians, mid-level providers, trauma teams, and diagnostic radiology to coordinate rapid workups, admissions, or transfer handoffs.
