Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the emergency department.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4.
• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy procedures.
• Participate in trauma assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Fulfill call requirements on weekends and holidays as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Completion of at least 1 previous travel assignment.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS.
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, TNCC.
• Ability to work nights with block scheduling up to 36 hours per week.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in IV starts and phlebotomy techniques.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, preferably Cerner.
• Ability to charge, triage, and mentor junior staff is a plus.

Work Environment

We have a busy emergency department with approximately 150 patient visits per day. Clinicians will receive comprehensive training on the unit before taking on charge responsibilities.

Additional Requirements

• Vaccination against seasonal influenza is mandatory.
• Potential exposure to COVID-19 patients.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.
