Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Dubuque, Iowa. This position involves providing patient care in a busy emergency department setting with a bed size of 16 and patient-to-nurse ratios of 3:1. The role requires working night shifts in a dynamic environment, supporting high-acuity patients, and adhering to strict clinical protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Emergency Department (ER) or Emergency Room experience, Iowa or multistate license or active compact license, specific skills checklist for Emergency Room, valid American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale certification, plus TNCC certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Telemetry and read/measure experience for cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, NIHSS, PALS (all required)
- Additional Information: Working holiday coverage may be required; orientation dates are scheduled for 08/17/2026, 08/24/2026, and 08/31/2026. Candidates must submit a current drivers license and a recent performance evaluation/reference from within the last 24 months.
