Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a Level II trauma center. This role involves providing urgent and critical care to adult and pediatric patients in a 32-bed emergency department, with an average daily census of 120. The ER RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive emergency care, including assessment, stabilization, and treatment, to a diverse patient population across night shifts.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (1900-0730), minimum of 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or eligible to obtain, minimum of 2 years experience in emergency department setting, certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
Float: Float rotation may be required within scope to meet facility needs
Additional Information:
The ER handles adult and pediatric cases with diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, trauma, respiratory issues, and infections.
Skills needed include interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ failure, IV therapy including blood products, management of mechanically ventilated patients, and procedures such as chest tube insertion.
Experience with neurological cases, orthopedic trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and shock/trauma cases is required.
Knowledge of isolation precautions, triage, and ventilator management is essential.
This role offers an orientation day conducted remotely, with compliance modules to be completed within one week of start date.
