Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. This position will primarily focus on the care of admitted patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in emergency care and a commitment to providing high-quality patient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage medication administration, including IV medication, in accordance with established protocols.
• Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and efficiently.
• Provide care in a Level I Trauma setting, with an emphasis on adult emergency services.
• Engage in patient assessments and develop care plans based on clinical evaluations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in floating to various departments as needed, including Adult PCUs and ED Holding.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required; candidates with 1.5 years may be considered if they possess Level I Trauma experience.
• Strong travel experience preferred, although candidates with 2+ years of Level I trauma experience may be considered even without travel experience.
• Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC; TNCC certification must be obtained before submission.
• COVID-19 vaccination is optional, but the facility is required to report vaccination status.
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, NYE & NYD.
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be accepted.

Shift Details

This position requires working 4-night shifts, each 12 hours long, from 19:00 to 07:30. Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed, with Saturday and Sunday considered weekend days and Friday through Sunday as weekend nights.

Additional Information

• Guaranteed contracted hours are available (36/48/40 hours per week).
• The facility may require adjustments to staffing and can call off staff up to three times during a 13-week assignment.
• A 6-month break is required after completing four consecutive assignments or reaching one year of service.
• Overtime is applicable after 48 hours worked in a week for contracts signed on or after October 30, 2025.
