Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level I Trauma Center located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing high-acuity emergency care in a fast-paced environment, including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke management, with staffing support from physicians and mid-level providers.
Job Details
Certifications and Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications required; NRP preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts scheduled between 0700-0700, totaling 48 hours per week.
Additional Requirements: Candidate must have recent experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center, and be able to pass a pass/fail skills exam during orientation with a 90% passing score. Finger nails must be free of artificial nails due to policy restrictions.
Responsibilities: Manage trauma, sepsis, chest pain, and stroke patients; interpret EKG strips; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; and ensure compliance with safety and clinical protocols.
Onboarding: One-week orientation including two shifts at designated facilities and one shift at the primary hospital.
Floating: Will be required to float to the Observation unit and the Freestanding Emergency Room at least once a week.
