Position Overview:

The ER RN provides emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups in a fast-paced, high-volume, non-trauma emergency department, managing medical, pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies.

Job duties:

• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, prioritization, and ongoing reassessment in the emergency department.
• Provide emergency interventions including IV therapy, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response.
• Manage patients requiring respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, chest tubes, and airway interventions.
• Administer and monitor continuous sedation, vasopressors, blood products, and procedural sedation as clinically indicated.
• Provide care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with acute medical, neurological, psychiatric, cardiac, and traumatic conditions.

Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN License
Experience: 2 years preferred; candidates with 1+ year may be considered with strong skills; travel experience not required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS
Other requirement: Community hospital experience required; Epic preferred; must be comfortable caring for all age groups.

Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Broad emergency presentation including abdominal pain, asthma, infections, seizures, sickle cell crisis, CVA, psychiatric emergencies, acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, respiratory conditions, cardiac emergencies, and multisystem organ dysfunction.
