Registered Nurse Clinical Education Manager

The Registered Nurse Clinical Education Manager is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive clinical education program for clinical staff to meet regulatory requirements and facilitate ongoing professional development. The role encompasses designing, teaching, and evaluating training programs while acting as a consultant for organizational development.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and maintain current regulations and standards relevant to clinical practice.
• Ensure educational activities align with organizational mission, goals, values, and priorities.
• Coordinate regulatory requirements for certifications, including BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC.
• Identify clinical education needs and best practices in collaboration with managers.
• Lead the clinical education team in developing and coordinating educational programs for nursing staff.
• Evaluate educational activities to ensure they enhance professional development and healthcare delivery.
• Oversee trauma registrar programs and maintain compliance with state regulations.
• Provide training resources for various certifications and coordinate outside training classes as needed.
• Participate in quality audits related to clinical education and develop action plans based on findings.
• Facilitate communication regarding continuing education opportunities within the community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC instructor certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional clinical instructor experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years as a staff RN in a specialty such as ER, ICU, OB, or OR.
• Prior experience in Emergency Room/Trauma and/or Remote Rural settings preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience required.

Skills and Knowledge

• Expertise in nursing principles, practices, and the care of adult and geriatric patients.
• Familiarity with trauma education and Alaska State Trauma Program regulations.
• Ability to develop effective and relevant educational content for adult learners.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Capability to conduct evaluations of educational activities.
• Experience with evidence-based research to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.

Physical Demands

The role requires the employee to communicate effectively, frequently stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

This position operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with a requirement for holiday coverage.
