Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Electrophysiology Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 06:00 - 16:30 Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in Electrophysiology with preferred experience in Catheterization Lab License: Active state or compact nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Travel experience required Description: The Electrophysiology RN will take STEMI call for 6-8 shifts per month. Work hours are four 10-hour shifts. Typically, the schedule is 06:00 - 16:30 when not on call and 06:30 - 17:00 when on call. Currently, the call is 7-8 times per 4-week period. Typically, there is one weekend on-call shift with other call days scattered through the week. Call is for emergent cases only or cases that rarely extend past 17:00. Staff are expected to work in the catheterization lab as needed. The candidate must have experience with activated clotting time, angioplasty, antiarrhythmics, and antihypertensives. Skills in arrhythmia induction, blood product administration, cardiac mapping, and cardiac stent placement are essential. Knowledge of emergency medications and infection prevention techniques is required. Candidates must be familiar with inserting and programming AICDs, performing pacemaker insertions, and conducting cardioversion. Additional skills required include procedural sedation administration and monitoring, as well as managing dysrhythmias. Experience in interventional catheterizations and transesophageal echocardiogram procedures is preferred. Candidates should have proficiency in operating hybrid OR equipment and experience with patients across adult and geriatric age groups. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
