Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Critical Care in ICU or Emergency Room experience License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - One year of Critical Care in ICU or Emergency Room experience - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Description: Unit has 6 beds and a staff of 8 RNs, 4 Paramedics, 4 Radiologic Technologists, and 1 Ultrasound Technologist. Typical staffing includes 2 RNs, 1 Paramedic, 1 Radiologic Technologist, and 1 Physician during the day shift. Night shift staffing is similar with 2 RNs, 1 Paramedic, 1 Radiologic Technologist, and 1 Physician. Patient ratios are 4-to-1, and due to the limited number of beds, nurses engage in team nursing. Equipment used in the unit includes a Lucas Device, EKG Machine, BiPAP, Glidescope, and general emergency room equipment and supplies. Electronic Medical Record system utilized is Meditech. Standard emergency care procedures such as EKG monitoring, blood draws, and medication administration are performed. The ability to adapt and fit into the team dynamics is important. Rotating weekends may be required, and on-call may be necessary but is not a requirement. Unit policies and guidelines follow standard protocols.
