Job Title: Travel RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year current acute care ED hospital experience - Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: This position is for a travel RN specializing in the Emergency Department. The unit has 27 beds and approximately 60 staff members, adjusting staffing based on patient volume. Core staffing includes 4 RNs or a combination of RNs and medics, along with EMTs and a secretary. Patient ratios are 4:1 with a charge nurse available to assist with critical patients. The unit utilizes a full range of equipment typical of a Level II trauma emergency department. Electronic Medical Records are managed through Meditech. Key patient care situations include psych/at-risk patient care and procedural sedation. Candidates should be proactive, engaged, and able to communicate effectively with patients and their families. Exceptional customer service skills are essential for providing high-quality care. The ED is known for its strong commitment to alternative pain management therapies, reducing opioid usage significantly. A stable night shift team with consistent leadership enhances the quality of care provided. Leadership is actively involved in patient care and staff education, fostering a supportive environment.
