Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,605 per week in Corpus Christi, TX

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Compassion is essential. Urgency is critical. Teamwork is extremely important. Level II or Level III trauma experience is required. TNCC, ENPC, or PALS certifications are preferred. Description: The emergency department consists of 16 beds with 8 additional hall chairs. Staffing includes 6-7 personnel per shift. During day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 nurses (one on mid-shift), 1 ultrasound technician, and 1-2 techs. Night shift features the same structure. Patient ratios are 1:4 for low acuity patients (ESI 4 and 5), with the potential to take on 6 patients. The unit is equipped with cardiac monitors, IV pumps, vital signs monitors, tonopens, and more. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is managed through Meditech, with vital signs flowing directly into the chart. Important skills needed include assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV placement, urine collection, lab draws, and care for ESI 5 through 1 patients. Dress code includes preferred royal blue scrubs. On Sundays, team spirit is encouraged with team jerseys (e.g., sports teams). Mandatory shift huddles occur at the start and end of each shift, unless critical care is being provided during that time. EMTALA training is required for all staff. The department is recognized for climbing the ranks in patient satisfaction and employee engagement. Timely care is provided for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma patients. This unit will be transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma facility, enhancing the scope of care provided.
