Description:
CONTRACT - RN - Emergency Department - 13 weeks - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
General Requirements:
No call required.
Weekend shifts are rotating (four weekend shifts in four weeks).
The unit has 35 beds.
There are eight staff on day shift, five on mid-shift, and seven on night shift.
Day Shift Composition: 1 Charge Nurse, 7 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician, 1 Medic, 1 Unit Secretary
Mid Shift Composition: 2 staff from 11 AM to 11 PM, 2 staff from 1 PM to 1 AM, 1 staff from 3 PM to 3 AM
Night Shift Composition: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician, 1 Medic, 1 Unit Secretary
Typical Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 3:1
Equipment: EMR Meditech
Currently, there are no permanent positions available on the unit.
Most recruited for positions include Travel RNs, local Certified Nursing Assistants, and sitters.
Candidates with 2 years of experience are preferred.
Common procedures performed on the unit include Trauma care, Stroke management, STEMI response, and Moderate Sedation.
Ideal personality fit is a high-energy individual who enjoys staying busy.
Dress Code: Scrub colors required are navy for RNs and tan tops with black bottoms for Patient Care Technicians and Unit Secretaries.
