Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,605 per week in Tomball, TX

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC Must-Have: Candidates must have ACLS and either PALS or ENPC. Description: The unit has 24 beds and a staff of 54. During the day shift, staff includes 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, 1 paramedic, and 1-3 sitters. The night shift comprises 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, 1 paramedic, and 1-3 sitters. Patient ratios are 1 nurse to 4 patients. The type of equipment used includes Level 1, Lucas devices, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, GE bedside monitors, and EKG machines. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Daily responsibilities include acute care and assessment of emergency room patients. The facility is a Level III trauma center, accredited chest pain center, and primary stroke center. Nurses will perform IV initiation, blood collection, blood transfusions, and medication administration. Additional duties include resuscitation of adult and pediatric patients, care of behavioral health patients, assisting with intubation, applying restraints, assisting with splinting, and administering moderate sedation. The ideal candidate should thrive in a family-like atmosphere and value teamwork. Candidates must be flexible in their roles, which could include triage and resuscitation rooms. Weekends are required, with a minimum of 2 per month. There is no on-call requirement.
