Description:
The emergency department has a total of 52 beds.
There are 134 staff members working in the department.
On day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 technician, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod.
On night shift, the staffing is the same.
The patient ratio is an average of 3:1, with low acuity at 5:1.
Pediatric cases are managed through team nursing.
The unit uses Alaris for medication administration.
The EMR system in use is Meditech/CPN.
Typical procedures performed in the unit include:
- IV starts
- Medication administration
- Sedations
- Pediatric care
Candidates should possess a good understanding of patient experience.
The ideal candidate will be able to keep up with the fast pace of the emergency department.
