Key Responsibilities of the RN - ED Emergency Department

Connect with patients and families during triage, ensuring priority of care is in accordance with Triage Standards.
Conduct thorough assessments, document deviations from norms, and identify necessary interventions using direct observation and interviews.
Build mutual trust and cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes.
Teach and delegate tasks consistent with education, training, and scope of practice.
Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, provide post-care referrals, and ensure understanding of home care instructions.
Maintain communication with patients and significant others, updating them on care processes.

Requirements of the RN - ED Emergency Department

BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
Two years of experience in an ED acute hospital setting as a registered professional nurse
