Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- Connect with patients and families during triage, establishing priorities of care in accordance with Triage Standards.
- Conduct primary assessments, document deviations, and implement necessary interventions based on critical needs.
- Encourage trust and cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and treatments, ensuring understanding and retention of health education.
- Maintain awareness of patient's condition and needs throughout their ER visit, updating communication boards as needed.
Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
- New York State RN License
- Two years of acute hospital experience in an emergency department
