Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Northside Forsyth Hospital, located in Cumming, Georgia. This role involves providing specialized, high-quality nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates within a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, intervention, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for our most vulnerable patients. This is a contract position requiring dedication to patient care and adherence to facility standards.

Please note: This position requires candidates to reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to neonates requiring intensive care, including premature infants and those with complex medical conditions.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient vital signs, physiological responses, and overall condition with precision and vigilance.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage specialized equipment (e.g., ventilators, incubators, IV pumps) according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate and provide emotional support to families, involving them in the care process and preparing them for discharge.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records, ensuring all patient data is current and accessible.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergent situations, demonstrating strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia or a compact state.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Cumming, Georgia.
