Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Not specified Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC within 90 days of hire Must-Have: 2 years experience as a nurse with at least 1 year experience in an emergency setting Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Flexibility to work in all areas of the department Description: The facility is licensed for 815 beds. It has been recognized among the top 1% of hospitals for clinical quality. The facility has received a national safety grade of A for its patient care. It holds the prestigious Magnet Designation for nursing excellence. The department is a referral center for trauma care, stroke care, and neonatal intensive care. It operates the busiest robotic surgery program in the region. The facility provides open heart and interventional cardiology services. This role involves working in a busy emergency department with a high volume of patients. The typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical cases, and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. There are available support staff including techs and unit clerks. The equipment includes pumps and monitoring systems. The documentation system used is Cerner. Scheduling will require every other weekend and flexibility to meet departmental needs. There is no floating outside of the department, but nursing staff must be open to covering all areas within. Patient experience protocols are emphasized, including respectful communication and real-time feedback. The department is known for its teamwork and welcoming culture. Staff enjoy serving a diverse community with many different languages represented.
