Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN license Certifications: ACLS before start date BLS before start date PALS before start date TNCC before start date CPI before start date NIHSS before start date ENPC within 90 days of hire Must-Have: 2 years of experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year of experience in an emergency setting Teamwork mentality Ability to coach and give feedback in real-time Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department Description: The emergency department has 101 beds. Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical cases, and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. Techs are available to work in cardiac monitoring and the internal processing area. Unit clerks are present during both days and nights. Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors. The documentation system used is Cerner. Scheduling requires commitment to every other weekend; block scheduling is not available. Staff must be open to floating within various sections of the emergency department. Patient experience is prioritized using AIDET and respectful behavior towards patients. Information boards must be updated throughout each patient’s visit. The ideal candidate has experience in a Level 2 trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center with a high volume of emergency visits. The department values teamwork and a welcoming environment. Staff enjoy serving a diverse community where over 120 languages are spoken in the region.
