Schedule: Emergency Department shifts with weekend coverage required. Patient ratio of 1:2 for days and nights. 24-hour orientation provided. Orientation held every other Monday.

• Contract extension opportunity for experienced travel nurses with strong critical care and emergency medicine backgrounds
• Comprehensive orientation with 24 hours of unit-specific training
• Charge experience preferred with opportunity to utilize leadership skills

Requirements:

• Active West Virginia or Compact State RN License (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; previous travel experience required
• Emergency Department experience with patient ratio experience of 1:4 or better
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association), CPI, MAB, NIHSS, NRP, and TNCC
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred; charge nurse experience preferred
• Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Clinical Skills & Competencies:

• Advanced emergency care including intubation, procedural sedation, and central line management
• Critical care interventions: continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors, and ventilator management
• Trauma care: GSWs, head injury, spinal cord injury, traumatic amputations, burns, and orthopedic trauma
• Cardiac care: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Respiratory management: BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, asthma, epiglottitis
• Behavioral health: acute psychosis, suicidal patients, managing violent behavior, psychiatric holds
• Pediatric and neonatal emergency care across all age groups
• Triage, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, isolation precautions, and blood product administration
