Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required. Previous travel experience preferred. 2 years of experience preferred. License: Any active state RN or compact license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently. Strongly preferred: previous charge experience, trauma level I or II experience. Description: The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients in the emergency department. They will manage a variety of acute medical conditions and emergencies. This role includes working with a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily patient census typically varies, with a range of visits daily. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. They will be required to work every other weekend and every other holiday. The nurse needs to have experience managing patients with severe conditions such as traumatic injuries, drug overdose, and mental health crises. Knowledge of specific skills related to emergency care such as intubation, medication administration, and patient monitoring is essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to handle high-stress situations are crucial for success in this role.
