Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,858 per week in Salem, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Candidates must have completed 2-3 travel assignments. Candidates must have 2-3 years of emergency room experience. Description: The unit has 27 beds and a staff of 50 registered nurses and 25 medics. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2-3 medics, increasing by 4-5 registered nurses at 11 AM and by 1-2 registered nurses at 3 PM. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2-3 medics. The patient ratios in the unit are maintained at 4-6:1. Electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement. Care of psychiatric patients and transfers to other facilities are also part of standard procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a relaxed, easy-going, friendly, and team-oriented attitude while being respectful. Preferred certifications include ENPC, NRP, and NIHF. There is no requirement for on-call duty. Weekend shifts include either Friday or Saturday for nights or Saturday or Sunday for days in a four-week scheduling period.
