Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required License: West Virginia or Compact RN License (Pending License acceptable) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of RN experience - Experience with patient ratios of 4:1 - Certification requirements: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI Description: Emergency Department Registered Nurse position for 3x12 hour night shifts. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM with weekdays and every other weekend required. Orientation is held every other week on Thursday. Ratios for patients are 4:1, covering a diverse population from infants to geriatrics. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in the specialty area. First-time travelers are accepted if they possess the appropriate experience. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Candidates must obtain current certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI. CPI course is available and must be scheduled more than 1 week before the start. Floating may be required within the scope to meet facility needs. Blocked schedules may be available and should be discussed during the interview. Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility for consideration. COVID-19 vaccine is not required. All candidates must complete a fit test in advance using an approved mask. Candidates may be required to travel up to 100 miles to complete the fit test. Flu shot is required unless a medical exemption is documented by a physician. Candidates with any prior probationary actions on their license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Full documentation must be submitted by noon on Monday prior to the start date to avoid delays.
