**Job Description:**
- **Location:** Harris Regional Hospital, Sylva, NC
- **Position:** RN - Emergency Medicine
- **Shift:** 7 PM - 7 AM
- **Weekly Guaranteed Hours:** 36
- **Weekend Requirements:** Every other weekend, 7 PM - 7 AM
- **Certifications Required:**
- Current RN license in state of practice
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- **Experience Required:** 2 years or greater in Emergency Medicine
**Unit Overview:**
- **Total Number of Beds:** 16
- **Patient Ratios:** 5:1
- **Equipment Includes:**
- Code Cart (Adult & Pediatric)
- Defibrillator
- GE Cardiac Monitors (B450)
- ECG
- Rapid Transfuser
- **EHR System:** Paragon ED
- **Patient Population:**
- Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Triage patients and assess ESI levels
- Perform rapid assessments and critical thinking
- Conduct resuscitation and fast track procedures
- Manage splinting and immobilization
**Common Diagnoses/Treatments:**
- Trauma stabilization (road traffic accidents)
- Neurological and cardiac conditions
- Sepsis and respiratory conditions
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism
- Diabetic, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and obstetric concerns
- Renal conditions and mental health issues
- Wounds, fractures, and dislocations
**Ideal Candidate:**
- Flexible, responsible, and dependable
- Strong skills in moderate sedation (adult/peds), cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing preferred
- Excellent ability to manage multiple co-morbidities
