Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred. License: Current RN License required. Certifications: Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; Preferred: TNCC. Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience - BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI certifications Description: This facility is a Trauma Level III Teaching Hospital. It has 457 licensed beds and is recognized as a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence. As an Emergency Department RN, you will care for patients with a variety of diagnoses. Common patient types include trauma cases, stroke patients, heart failure, chest pain, and others. Patient ratios are RN: 1:5 maximum, dependent on acuity. Skills required include trauma experience, stroke experience, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Additional required skills include conscious sedation, PIV starts, and chest tube management. Support within the department includes charge nurses, receptionists, and hospitalists available 24/7. Technology utilized includes an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and monitoring systems. Floating to regional facilities may occur, depending on department needs. Weekend rotation includes working every other weekend, with no call for travelers. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requesting time off is allowed, with specific guidelines on availability.
