Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required. First-time travelers will not be accepted. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required. TNCC preferred. Must-Have: General Emergency Department skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The facility has 337 licensed beds with a focus on providing diverse emergency care. The unit consists of 43 beds and includes Clinical Decision beds and additional areas for patient management. The average daily census is approximately 145 patients. Patient types range from pediatric to geriatric, covering a general emergency department population. Common diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, strokes, behavioral health issues, acute myocardial infarction, and minor trauma. The admission rate is between 25-30%. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 based on acuity. A Certified Nursing Assistant will serve as a unit coordinator and may assist RN with patient care. Support within the department includes a paramedic, charge nurse, patient safety attendants, and dedicated pharmacists. Emergency department staff includes physicians, advanced practice providers, and specialists available 24/7. Technology utilized includes an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitors. Traveling between facilities may be required based on regional needs. Candidates are expected to have a welcoming and helpful demeanor in a busy environment.
