Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred License: Required RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This facility is a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital. The Emergency Department consists of 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds. Travelers will primarily be hired as Med/Tele RN to cover ED Holds. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, and respiratory illnesses. The maximum RN to patient ratio is 1:5, depending on patient acuity. Certified Nursing Assistants will have a maximum ratio of 1:7. The department offers 24/7 support from various healthcare professionals, including hospitalists and intensivists. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed. Floating mid-shift may be compensated for travel time. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Scrub color is navy.
