The RN position cares for admission and observation patients with assistance from support staff. The RN may float to the emergency department when patients arrive. Typical admissions include rehabilitation or swing bed patients needing therapy services before discharge. Some special procedures may include IVIG infusions and port flushes. Patient care is delivered in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. The emergency department typically sees a lower patient census.
