TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in College Station, Texas, 77845!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Evenings Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: 2 years experience in an Emergency Room setting Description: Unit Notes include clinical prescreens for patients. Candidates must provide a copy of a government-issued ID. Name on ID must match the name used in the application. Recent employees within the past year are not eligible. Candidates will be required to pass an advanced dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 83%. They will receive three attempts to pass the exam. Call-outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. The facility specializes in Level III STEMI and Stroke Receiving. The Emergency Room has 18 beds including 4 critical rooms used for trauma or codes. Travelers are permitted to work in a separate triage area. Patient holds are intermixed within the ER, and ER nurses will care for these patients. There is 1 psych/seclusion room available. Security is in-house and available 24/7. On average, the ER treats about 70 patients per day. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3-4 depending on patient acuity. Candidates should be familiar with common drips seen in the ER, including pressors and sedation. Physicians are available in-house 24 hours a day. Mid-level providers are staggered throughout busy times. The charge nurse generally has a patient-free assignment. There are 2 Patient Care Technicians per shift, who may occasionally be pulled to assist as sitters. Respiratory Therapy is present in the ER, conducting ABGs and breathing treatments. Registered Nurses are responsible for interpreting EKGs. Transport assistance for X-Ray and CT is readily available. Phlebotomy services are also provided in the ER. Shifts are typically 12 hours with a matrix scheduling approach to accommodate staff needs. Weekend and holiday rotations are included within the scheduled shifts. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. Travelers are usually not required to float outside their assigned area. Scrub attire must be navy, with undershirts also being navy. Orientation consists of 1-3 shifts dependent on experience, with a check-off packet provided. Registered Nurses are not responsible for patient placement for psych patients; screening and placement are coordinated by qualified staff. Preference is given to travelers who are willing to extend their assignments. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is MEDITECH. This role is set in an acute care environment.
