Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,912 per week in Lufkin, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Evening Variable Mids Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: 2 years of experience in Emergency Department Description: Candidates must not have been full-time, part-time, or PRN in any associated facility within the past year. The unit has a total of 243 bays including trauma bays. Fast track is available. There is a separate Triage area, and travelers may occasionally be required to complete Triage duties. There is no separate holding area; ER holds are intermixed within the ER. Registered Nurses in the ER manage their own holds. There are no separate Psych/seclusion rooms available. In-house security is present. The unit typically cares for 80-90 patients per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either PALS or ENPC. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac conditions. Physicians and mid-level practitioners are available for collaboration. Both Charge Nurses and House Supervisors are present on the unit. Nurse Aids, paramedics, and patient sitters assist with patient care. Charting is completed using the Paragon system. Registered Nurses are responsible for interpreting ECG rhythms as there are no monitor techs on the unit. X-Ray and CT are performed next to the Emergency Department, with transport available. Phlebotomy is conducted by a technician or a registered nurse. Self-scheduling options are available for shifts including days and nights. Weekend requirements are every other weekend, with holiday requirements also every other. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is required to qualified units. Dress code includes navy scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided. Cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks.
