Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,912 per week in Lufkin, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC Must-Have: 2 years of experience in Emergency Department Description: Candidates must not have been full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated within the past year. The unit has a total of 243 bays. There is a Fast Track system in place. A separate Triage area exists, and travelers may occasionally be required to perform Triage. There is no separate holding area in the ER; ER holds are intermixed within the ER. ER nurses manage their own ER holds. There are no separate Psych or seclusion rooms. In-house security is available. The unit cares for about 80-90 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 to 4. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC. Common diagnoses and types of patients include Trauma, Stroke, Sepsis, CHF, and Cardiac. Experience requirements or 'must-have' skills include 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department. Both Charge Nurses and House Supervisors are present in the unit. There are Nurse Aids, Paramedics, and Patient Sitters available. The electronic medical record system is Paragon. Respiratory completes ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGS's. There is no telemetry on this unit; nurses must know ECG rhythms. X-Ray or CT facilities are located next to the Emergency Department. Phlebotomy or nurses perform draws. Self-scheduling is available for shifts. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements are every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is required to qualified units. The dress code for the unit is navy. Unit-specific orientation is provided. The cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, with a reduced number of shifts for shorter assignments.
