Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,930 per week in Hopewell, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 15:00 - 03:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI Must-Have: Strong IV skills in adults and pediatrics Excellent communication skills Description: The unit has 22 beds and a vertical space area for additional patients. There are approximately 50 staff on the unit. Day Shift typically includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 tech, and 1 medic. Night Shift typically includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 nurses, 1 secretary, and 1 tech/medic. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4. The unit is equipped with Phillips and GE monitors and a Level 1 rapid infuser. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed on the unit include: Cardioversion Central line placements Cardiac arrests IV insertions and EKGs (basic ER skills) Pacemaker interrogation Activation of stroke protocol Activation of sepsis protocol Suture and abscess setup Ideal candidates will be team players who are energetic, professional, and respectful to both patients and colleagues. They should be able to hold themselves and others accountable. Candidates must be patient-centered and focused with excellent attendance. The ability to adapt quickly to change is essential. Candidates with trauma experience and Meditech experience are preferred. Floating may occur to a nearby facility. Work schedule requires every other weekend, including at least 1 Friday and 1 Monday in a 4-week schedule. There is no on-call requirement.
