Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,948 per week in Bossier City, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB, EKG competency required. Must-Have: Ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and stroke experience (TPA administration). Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. The unit has 29 beds. The patient population includes infants and end-of-life patients. All acuity levels are treated, including MedSurg, Stepdown, and ICU. Traumas are stabilized before being transferred. Common cases include STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, stroke requiring interventions, spinal precautions, seizures, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, COVID, ETOH, IVDA, and GI illnesses and infections. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 or 1:5 in fast-track areas. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse who may take patient assignments and in-house phlebotomy. An IV/VAT team is not available. A resource nurse is present but varies by staffing levels. Respiratory therapy is in-house and hospitalists are available 24/7. The charting system uses EMR. Floats between units are not expected. Weekend rotation includes every other weekend. Scheduled shifts may be 4 days one week and 3 days the next. Travelers may work 3/2 or 5/2 rotations. Requests for time off are limited to 7 days and only one weekend per 13-week contract. There is a holiday requirement to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Professionalism is mandatory, including no cell phone usage in patient care areas and no eating at desk. Dress code includes pewter scrubs, gray, white, or black t-shirts with a specific monogram, gray or black jackets, and visible badges. The culture on the unit is traveler-friendly.
