Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department. License: Must have state RN license in hand. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS required. Must-Have: Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department preferred. Description: Position: RN - Emergency Room Ratios: 1:4 Candidates are accepted with prior experience as a first-time traveler. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Floating to other areas may be required. Preferred certifications include TNCC and CPI. Experience with Epic charting system is preferred. Skills required include: - Management of arterial lines - Blood product administration - Care of ventilated patients - Cervical spine precautions - Basic trauma assessment The emergency room provides care for a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census and number of visits are significant. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates should be familiar with procedures related to trauma care. Experience in managing violent behavior and psychiatric holds is important. The ability to perform triage and provide care for various medical emergencies is essential. Candidates must be ready to address critical conditions such as drug overdoses and respiratory infections. Preference will be given to those with additional skills in managing complex medical scenarios. Applicants are expected to demonstrate expertise in administering procedural sedation and EKG interpretation. All potential candidates must meet specified eligibility and qualification standards.
