Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,984 per week in Ringgold, GA

Proficiency in EPIC. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to work in the Emergency Room. The environment is fast-paced and demands self-sufficiency. Candidates should be comfortable caring for a high-acuity patient population. Typical diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and uncontrolled diabetes. The unit sees patients across all age groups, primarily from 20 to 90 years old. On average, the department treats 70 to 80 patients per day. Nurse-patient ratios are approximately 4:1. There is a separate triage area where travelers are required to perform triage duties. Security is present in-house 24/7. The team includes one ED physician at all times, with additional mid-level providers during peak hours. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may also take patient assignments, mainly for behavioral health patients. A Patient Care Technician and sitter pool are available for support, particularly for behavioral health patients. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, and RNs are required to troubleshoot equipment but not perform advanced procedures. RNs are responsible for drawing labs. Self-scheduling for local staff is available, but not guaranteed for travelers. There is an expectation for flexibility regarding weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Travelers may need to float between locations within a defined area. The dress code includes navy blue scrubs. Experience in smaller, fast-paced facilities is ideal. This role involves a significant amount of patient transfers due to critical care needs. Candidates will not be considered if they are new to the Emergency Department.
