Must-Have: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration.
Description:
This facility has 457 licensed beds and is a Trauma Level III teaching hospital.
It is recognized as a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.
The facility also has a Bariatric Center of Excellence.
Travelers must have a permanent address that is 50 miles outside of the home unit to qualify.
The Emergency Department team generally includes ratios of 1 RN to a maximum of 5 patients, depending on acuity.
Patient types and common diagnoses include trauma, gunshot wounds, stabbings, motor vehicle accidents, falls, strokes, heart failures, chest pain, COPD, and respiratory illnesses.
Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the region as necessary.
The department supports a variety of roles, including CNAs and physicians available 24/7.
The facility utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and Phillips monitors.
Travelers should be willing to work 75% of scheduled holidays and will have the opportunity for up to 6 approved days off excluding holidays.
