Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,002 per week in Bossier City, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ER Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB Must-Have: General nursing knowledge Emergency department experience Ventilator management Critical care drips/titration Cardiac rhythm interpretation Measuring cardiac strips Drains and chest tube management Hemodynamic line management: Art lines/CVP Stroke experience (TPA administration) Conscious sedation Assisting with splinting Description: The emergency department has 29 beds. Patients include infants and end-of-life care. All acuity levels are treated, including MedSurg, Stepdown, and ICU. Traumas are stabilized and redirected to other facilities. Conditions treated include STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, and stroke requiring interventions. Other conditions include spinal precautions, seizures, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, and COVID. A variety of social issues, including ETOH and IVDA, are also addressed. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 or 1:5 in fast-track areas. Support on the unit may include charge nurses who may take patient assignments and phlebotomy services. An IV/VAT team is not available. A resource nurse will vary depending on staffing. Emergency department physicians are available 24/7. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system. IV pumps and medication dispensing systems are utilized. Floating is not required to other units. Weekend rotation is every other week. Expectations include working 4 days one week and 3 days the next week as a mandatory schedule. Travelers may work different rotation patterns, such as 3/2 or 5/2. Requests for time off are limited to 7 days, with the requirement to extend the contract for any full week off. Only one weekend of time off may be requested per contract. Supplies required include scrub colors in pewter and t-shirts in gray, white, or black with an approved monogram. Professionalism is required, including no cell phone use in patient care areas, no earbuds, and no eating at the desk. Badges must be worn above the waist and visible at all times.
