Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Job Summary

Join a dynamic Emergency Department team in Lawton, Oklahoma, serving a diverse patient population across all ages. This 36-bed, high-volume ED manages approximately 59,000 patient visits annually, providing critical care for a wide spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, performing rapid assessments, prioritizing interventions, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to stabilize and manage patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies. This role demands strong critical thinking and communication skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient department flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive and focused patient assessments for emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions.
  • Triage patients utilizing evidence-based protocols to determine acuity and initiate appropriate care.
  • Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing a wide range of medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per hospital policy and provider orders.
  • Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and EMS personnel.
  • Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Actively participate in rapid response, trauma activations, Code Blue, Stroke, and STEMI protocols.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards.
  • Contribute to a culture of patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma or a compact multi-state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
  • Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department setting.
