Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $2,056 per week in Meridian, ID

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Evening, Night Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC Must-Have: 2.5 years of Emergency Department experience and trauma experience preferred. Description: Department: Emergency Room The facility treats an average of 170 patients per day. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5. There are 45 beds including hallway and vertical rooms, trauma bay, resuscitation bay, and cardiac room. A separate triage area is available, and travelers are not assigned to triage. Patients holding areas are intermixed within the Emergency Room. There are 4 psychiatric rooms included in the 45 beds, with 1:1 sitters for these patients. Security is in-house 24/7. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and ENPC. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, trauma, and abdominal pain. Experience with common drips such as nicardipine, propofol, fentanyl, norepinephrine, nitroglycerin, and versed is essential. The Emergency Department is staffed with at least one physician and an advanced practice provider, with up to six providers at a time. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments. CNA support is available with a ratio of 1:5-9, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for ABGs and breathing treatments. Emergency nurses must read and interpret telemetry/monitoring equipment. X-ray and CT services are available within the facility. RNs, CNAs, and phlebotomy staff draw labs. Shifts are scheduled as needed, mixing AM and PM start times without block scheduling. Weekend requirements include a minimum of 4 shifts in 6 weeks. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to other facilities may occur, but it is rare. Scrubs must be clean and professional. Unit-specific orientation consists of one shift on the floor after hospital and system training.
