Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Candidate must have 2 years of experience in specialty and 1 travel contract. Strict 75-mile radius rule enforced. Description: The unit consists of fast track clinic rooms and trauma bays. There are a total of 12 beds, including 2 trauma bays. One seclusion room is available for psychiatric needs. The average patient volume is around 70 patients per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. A charge nurse is present and does not take patients. One paramedic typically runs the clinic each shift and responds to trauma or codes. Emergency room technicians will also be available, with at least one per shift. Nurse externs, who are nursing students, may be present for additional support. Security and patient sitters are available for one-on-one observation for psychiatric holds. Every other weekend is required for scheduling. Holiday scheduling rotates with permanent staff. Scrub colors are hunter green pants, white top, and white jacket. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are not in-house 24/7 but can be accessed during daytime hours. Shifts may start at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM. Common diagnoses range from neonates to geriatrics, addressing both minor walk-ins and trauma cases. Trauma cases will be stabilized and evacuated. Patients are transferred out as needed, including pediatric cases. Utilization of air medical transport is common for trauma cases. Cancellation policy is set at 12 hours every two weeks.
