Job Summary

Join a dynamic team as an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in a busy Trauma Level III facility. This modern, well-equipped hospital is located in rural Hermiston, Oregon, offering a unique opportunity to provide critical care in a close-knit community setting.

You will play a pivotal role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a diverse patient population presenting with emergent conditions. This position requires a highly skilled and independent clinician capable of managing complex cases with minimal supervision, collaborating effectively with a dedicated team of nurses and a full-time ER physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient health status, develop nursing diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Delegate and coordinate nursing care activities, ensuring comprehensive and timely patient management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality patient care in adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accurate written Nursing Care Plans for assigned patients.
  • Act as a strong patient advocate, ensuring patient rights and needs are met.
  • Provide direction and supervision to assigned nursing personnel and support staff.
  • Report directly to the Unit Nurse Manager or House Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision, exhibiting strong clinical judgment.
